View detailsAbout the Work
These paintings are rooted in the landscapes and communities of the American West, with particular emphasis on the Grand Valley, Colorado National Monument, Grand Mesa, Mount Garfield, De Beque Canyon, and the Book Cliff country. The work also reaches beyond Western Colorado to other places that capture the character and atmosphere of the West. Throughout, I emphasize strong light, simplified shapes, painterly brushwork, and a clear sense of place.
