Canyon Rim

Canyon Rim was inspired by the dramatic overlooks of the Colorado National Monument. I wanted to capture the feeling of standing near the edge as warm light catches the sandstone and the canyon falls away into cool shadow. I kept the painting loose and atmospheric, with the focus on light, depth, and the scale of the landscape.
