Artist Statement

I am a Western Colorado oil painter based in Grand Junction. My work focuses on the canyon country, mesas, old trails, ranch life, and weathered landmarks of the Colorado Plateau. I paint in a contemporary Western impressionist style, using strong light, simplified forms, and painterly brushwork to capture the character and memory of this region. My paintings reflect a personal connection to the landscape, from the Book Cliffs and Grand Mesa to Colorado National Monument and the desert country beyond.
